Thoughts on the Stimulus Checks

I got mine! You get yours, yet? $600 I didn’t ask for, didn’t earn and don’t deserve, dropped into my bank account. Now there’s some talk about doing another one of these towards the end of the year. I’m all in favor of that!

In fact, I find myself wondering, why not do this every year? One stimulus check per person at the start of Summer and again at the start of the holiday shopping season. Why not? They do something similar in Alaska and though Mike Gravel is clearly a few pancakes short of a breakfast, his plan to do it nationwide seems a decent one.

True, such a plan wouldn’t be cheap. If I recall correctly, the current stimulus package ran us about $200 billion. On the other hand, if we set up a dividend fund like they have in Alaska, it could pay for itself and have money left over for other things. Plus, hey, money for us.

Opinions?

You didn’t send that check back? Shame on you, we could use that money to have a party after the elections in November! :)

Hey, I would’ve sent it back, but Xbox 360’s don’t pay for themselves, you know! ;)
