Disapointing

Barack Obama is my candidate of choice, but that doesn’t mean he and I don’t disagree on certain things.

For example; as I wrote the other week, the Supreme Court recently made a ruling that it’s un-Constitutional to execute people for crimes other than murder and treason. This means you can’t execute someone for child rape. Barack Obama disagrees with that ruling. I don’t.

Now I hear that he’s in favor of more funding from the government for faith-based charities. What this means in plain English: your tax dollars being given to religious groups. This is very much against the First Amendment, as well as tacky and unwise. It’s bad enough we don’t tax the churches, thus losing billions of dollars in tax money each year. Now we’re also expected to give them money? No, that’s not a good idea.

I still like Obama. I agree with him on probably 90% of his viewpoints. Were I able to vote, I’d be voting for him in November. But I don’t agree with him on these points, and I feel sad that he believes how he does.

You’re not eligible to vote? Why not? Aren’t you 18 yet? ;)

No, I’m a non-voting felon, sadly. Once I finish paying the fines I owe, I can vote again, depending on what state I live in. It just hasn’t happened yet.
