So they’re making a larger-size version of the 3DS. I have no real objection to this. I had a 3DS for a while, and I enjoyed it (I’m a sucker for the various Pokemon games). I can agree that the original version of it was perhaps a bit small for anyone larger than the average kid, so making it bigger makes some sense.
But what confuses me is that while they’re doing that, why didn’t they add a second analog stick/circle pad? There are a lot of people, myself not really included, who would like to play 3D shooter games on that thing, and for that you do really need a second stick/pad. Nintendo even has one they already sell as an external device for the standard 3DS. I’m not sure what they were thinking. It likely won’t hurt their sales too much, but I can’t help but feel they’re missing a chance to do something that would make a positive difference.
