My first thought was, “Oh yay. Daleks.” but then I realized that maybe… just maybe… it’ll be done different this time. A good trailer. I hope it’s not a trick! I bet it’s a trick.

Let me just say there is a substantial lack of creativity in the new episodes. I mean look at what’s featured, Dinosaurs? No one invented those. Daleks, that’s old school. Some other bi pedal stuff. Who cares? What happened to this show? Where are the creatures like the Axons, http://tardis.wikia.com/wiki/Axon#Axons, the Creature from the pit, the Justice Machines? This used to be an incredibly creative show, now it just trades on the past with very little in inventive content. Boo to the new Who!

Well, let’s see here. In Season 6, here are the villains/adversaries that we had:

      The Silence
      An alien medical program
      House
      The Gangers
The Headless Monks and Madam Kevorian
      Porcelain dolls
A well-meaning computer (admittedly, another medical one)
A computer simulation on a prison ship
      The Cybermen

So by that list, every single one of those, except the Cybermen was something that was unique to that series. Yes, the Doctor has dealt with computers going bonkers before, but he’s also dealt with aliens before. So I’m seeing a great deal of originality.

What I’d actually like to see more of, would be various creatures and such from the original series. We’ve had Silurians, Sontarans, Autons, Daleks and Cybermen (as well as a brief shot of the Macra), and that’s all well and good, but what about others? Rumor has it the Zygons are returning this season, so that’s good. But I’d like to see a lot more from the old series. Well-executed, of course.
