There’ve been rumors going around for a while now that missing episodes of Doctor Who have been recovered. These rumors come up fairly often, and I usually ignore them, especially after getting burned earlier this year with reports a huge cache had been recovered in Western Africa. Over the last few days, the rumors, reported by the Daily Mirror and the Radio Times, have indicated a few, possibly several, Second Doctor stories have been recovered in Ethiopia. I generally ignored these rumors as well, but now BBC News is reporting “a number” of episodes have been recovered.
I wrote in some detail on this earlier today for WhatCulture. Those who want more details can go there to get them. For now I’d just like to say, yay, and I hope this doesn’t turn out to be another fake-out like before.
