Send Money, Not Stuff

So as you’ve heard, a major typhoon hit the Philippines back a few days ago. Aid organizations are doing their thing to get aid to people. But as we all chip in, which I will be doing later this week, keep this in mind: don’t send stuff.

Send money. Lots of money. As much money as you can spare. Don’t send clothes. Don’t send food. Don’t send medical supplies. The Philippines has all those things. Instead, send money so that local aid organizations can buy those things and get them to the people who need them. Sending stuff requires that people ship that stuff, and that’s expensive. Send money instead.
