Some of you have probably never heard of Bill Donohue. He’s a bitter, obnoxious, angry white man who is also the head of the Catholic League. He’s basically a steaming pile of all that’s wrong with the world in human form.
Recently, as you may have heard, several sponsors pulled out of various St. Patrick’s Day parades in places like New York and Boston. They were protesting the parade organizers not allowing gay groups to march. But ole Mr. Bill couldn’t just put up with that or complain verbally to the press, though I’m sure he did, knowing him. No, instead he decided to step it up a notch. He petitioned the New York Gay Pride Parade to allow him to march under a banner that said, “Straight is Great!” He seemed to smugly believe the gay community would find this deeply, horribly offensive, and would never let him march, thus proving that they are the real bigots.
Of course you can see where this is going.
The organizers of course approved his request! They said he was absolutely welcome because, shock of shocks, most gay people don’t hate straight people. Why would we? My parents, most of my family, many of my friends, almost everyone I meet in the world, are, in fact, straight. To hate them would be to hate the world, and I leave that to the likes of Bill Donohue.
Naturally he is, of course, trying to weasel out of it now.
Ah, what a piece of work this guy is. I do hope something heavy falls on him soon.
